In response to the COVID-19 situation, Muscular Dystrophy Canada has provided the following message to be shared with our IAFF Canadian leadership:
To our dedicated IAFF members,
We know how much you care about MDC clients and families. Your commitment to raise much-needed funds year after year is remarkable and has touched the lives of countless Canadian families.
We’re grateful for your continued fundraising efforts, but we’re asking you to put your health first.
Social distancing is critically important in these extraordinary times; COVID-19 is a threat to all of us but especially to our clients impacted by neuromuscular disorders. As such, we have postponed our fundraising activities for April, May and June to help ensure the safety of our clients, staff and supporters – like you. Fire fighters need to be strong and healthy during this very critical time so you can fulfill your most important role as first responders in our communities.
To those of your members who may have contracted the COVID-19 virus, we wish them a speedy recovery.
Thank you for all you’ve done for the past 65 years. We look forward to working with you again in the very near future.
